About Lottorios

Is Lottorios affiliated with any lottery operator?

No. Lottorios is independently owned and operated by Lior Tencher. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any lottery operator. Our analysis is produced independently — lottery operators have no influence over our statistical methodology or editorial content.

Where we display affiliate links to licensed ticket purchase platforms, they are clearly labeled. Those relationships do not affect our results reporting or analysis. See our full Editorial Independence policy.

How do I report an error or incorrect result?

Email hello[at]lottorios.com with the page URL, what's incorrect, and the correct source. We review all correction requests within 24 hours. If the error is confirmed, we correct the page immediately and append a permanent correction notice. See our full Corrections Policy.

What lotteries does Lottorios cover?

We cover 50+ lotteries across the US, Europe, and internationally — including Powerball, Mega Millions, EuroMillions, EuroJackpot, UK National Lottery, and dozens of state and national games. See the full list on our Lotteries page. We add new lotteries regularly; if yours isn't listed, let us know.

Statistics & Tools

What are hot and cold numbers?

Hot numbers are those that have appeared more often than average across the full historical draw record for a given lottery. Cold numbers have appeared less often than average.

We calculate these using normalized frequency — the number of appearances divided by total draws — rather than raw counts, so older lotteries with more draws don't skew the rankings unfairly.

Important: In a truly random lottery, past frequency has no predictive effect on future draws. Each draw is independent. Hot and cold numbers are historical observations, not predictions. We present them as interesting context — how you use them (or whether you use them at all) is entirely up to you.

What is gap analysis and what does "overdue" mean?

Gap analysis measures how many draws have elapsed since each number last appeared. We compare that current gap to each number's historical average gap — the average number of draws between appearances over its full history.

A number with a current gap well above its historical average is labeled "overdue." For example, if a number's average gap is 15 draws but it hasn't appeared in 40 draws, that's a statistically unusual absence by historical standards.

The key caveat: In a random system, a number being overdue carries no mathematical guarantee about its next appearance. Each draw is independent. The Gambler's Fallacy is the incorrect belief that a random event is "due" because it hasn't happened recently — it isn't. We flag overdue numbers as a pattern observation, not a betting signal.

What does the Sum Range Checker do?

The Sum Range Checker calculates the total of your chosen numbers and tells you whether that total falls within the historically common range for the lottery you're playing. We calculate the common range as the 25th to 75th percentile of all historical winning ticket sums for that game.

Most winning tickets fall within this range because extreme combinations (all very low or all very high numbers) are statistically rare in large random draws. The sum range doesn't predict winners — it just shows you whether your numbers are historically typical or unusual.

What is pair frequency and how is it calculated?

Pair frequency measures how often two specific numbers have appeared together in the same winning draw, normalized against the expected co-appearance frequency under a purely random distribution. Pairs that appear together significantly more than random chance predicts are surfaced as high-correlation combinations.

This is one of the more sophisticated analyses on Lottorios and took the longest to validate. Pair scores are cross-checked against randomized draw simulations to confirm they exceed the expected statistical noise floor before being shown to users.

As with all our tools, pair correlation describes historical patterns only. High pair frequency does not guarantee those numbers will appear together in future draws.

How often are the statistics updated?

All statistics recalculate automatically after each confirmed draw. Specifically:

  • Frequency statistics: updated immediately after each draw confirmation

  • Gap analysis: updated immediately after each draw

  • Pair correlation tables: updated immediately after each draw

  • Prediction models: retrained quarterly, or immediately after any operator rule change

See the full update schedule in our Editorial Policy.

Can I use Lottorios on mobile?

Yes. Lottorios is fully responsive and optimized for mobile browsers. All statistical tools, results pages, and analysis work on phones and tablets without any app download required. Just open lottorios.com in your mobile browser.

Results & Data

Where does Lottorios get its draw results?

All draw results come from official lottery operator websites and their verified published data feeds. We do not accept user-submitted results. We do not use unverified third-party scrapers as a primary source.

For major US lotteries (Powerball, Mega Millions), we pull directly from official MUSL member feeds. For European lotteries, we source from each national operator's official results page. The specific source is named on each lottery's results page. See the full sourcing policy in our Editorial Policy.

How quickly are results published after the draw?

Results are published in real time as soon as they are confirmed from an official source — the timing depends on when each lottery operator releases their official data. We never publish a result until it has been confirmed.

How far back does the historical data go?

The depth of historical data varies by lottery. Some games have hundreds of draws in our database; others have more. Each lottery's page shows how many draws are included in the analysis.

What happens if a draw result is delayed or voided by the operator?

If an official draw is delayed, postponed, or subject to a verification hold by the operator, Lottorios will display a notice that results are pending official confirmation. We never publish an unconfirmed result as final.

If a draw result is subsequently voided or corrected by the operator, we update our records immediately and append a correction notice to the affected result page.

Predictions

How does Lottorios generate prediction sets?

Our prediction sets are generated by combining signals from multiple statistical tools — frequency data, gap analysis, and pair correlation — to produce number combinations that score well across several historical metrics simultaneously.

The algorithm is reviewed for accuracy by Lior Tencher before each quarterly retraining cycle. It surfaces historically interesting combinations — not random numbers and not guaranteed winners.

Does using statistics actually improve my chances of winning?

No statistical tool changes your odds of winning a jackpot. Those odds are fixed by the game's mathematical structure — every combination has exactly the same probability of being drawn. Our tools don't change that.

What statistics can do:

  • Help you avoid popular combinations. If you win with an unusual combination, you're less likely to share the jackpot. Jackpot splits significantly reduce individual payouts.

  • Add informed context to your number selection. Instead of choosing numbers purely at random, you can factor in historical patterns — while understanding they don't predict the future.

  • Make the game more engaging. Many players find that analyzing statistics makes the lottery more interesting as an experience, even knowing it doesn't change the odds.

We will never claim our tools give you a winning edge. Honest probability is a founding principle of Lottorios.

Is Quick Pick (random selection) better than choosing my own numbers?

Mathematically, Quick Pick and self-selected numbers have identical odds of winning. No combination is more or less likely to be drawn than any other.

The practical argument for self-selection is jackpot splitting: if you choose unusual combinations (avoiding birthdays and popular sequences like 1-2-3-4-5), you reduce the chance of sharing a jackpot win with other players who chose the same numbers. This doesn't help you win more often — it just means you keep more if you do win.

Playing the Lottery

What's the difference between lump sum and annuity for jackpot winners?

Most major lottery jackpots offer winners a choice between two payment options:

  • Lump sum (cash option): A single immediate payment, typically around 60% of the advertised jackpot value before taxes. You receive the money immediately but the total is significantly less than the headline figure.

  • Annuity: The full advertised jackpot amount paid out in annual installments over 29-30 years (for Powerball and Mega Millions). The total is higher, but payments are spread over decades.

Both options are subject to federal and state income tax. The right choice depends on your personal financial situation. Lottery operators and most financial advisors recommend consulting a financial planner and tax attorney before claiming a large prize. See our full guide: How to Claim a Prize.

How long do I have to claim a lottery prize?

Claim deadlines vary by lottery and jurisdiction, but typically range from 90 days to one year after the draw date. Unclaimed prizes are forfeited. Check the specific lottery's official rules for the exact deadline — these are listed on each lottery's page on Lottorios and on the operator's official website.

Always check your tickets promptly after each draw and don't delay claiming any prize, however small.

Can I buy lottery tickets online?

Online ticket purchase is available in many US states and most European countries through official lottery operator websites or licensed third-party platforms. Availability depends on your jurisdiction and you typically need to be physically located within the jurisdiction at the time of purchase.

Lottorios does not sell lottery tickets. We provide statistics, results, and analysis only. For ticket purchases, use the official lottery operator's website or a licensed retailer in your jurisdiction.

Responsible Gambling

Is the lottery worth playing?

That depends entirely on why you play. The expected financial return on a lottery ticket is always negative — the lottery operator keeps a percentage of every ticket sold, so over time the average player loses money.

But lottery is entertainment, and entertainment has value beyond financial return. The excitement of a draw, the enjoyment of analyzing statistics, the shared experience of a big jackpot week — these are real benefits for many players. If a lottery ticket provides genuine enjoyment at a price you can comfortably afford, that's a reasonable entertainment choice.

The answer changes if you're spending more than you can afford, chasing losses, or treating the lottery as a financial strategy. None of those uses are healthy or financially rational.
